Lori Nazareno
Lori Nazareno is an educator and school design leader who currently serves as Head of School Design and Networks (also described as Design Lead) at Mira Education, where she works with partners to design and implement collective leadership in varied educational settings. She is a co-author of Small Shifts, Meaningful Improvement: Collective Leadership Strategies for Schools and Districts (ASCD, 2023).
A former science teacher with 25 years of classroom experience at both the high school and elementary levels, Nazareno led a team of educators that designed and launched a collectively led school in Denver serving some of the district’s most historically underserved students and families. She holds National Board Certification in Science for both Adolescents and Young Adults and Early Adolescents and has served six years on the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards board of directors, as a member of the National Education Association’s Commission on Effective Teachers and Teaching, and on the Teacher Advisory Council for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
