Luis F. Cruz
Luis F. Cruz is an educational leader, consultant, and author known for his work on transformational school leadership, professional learning communities (PLCs), and response to intervention (RTI). He is the coauthor (with Anthony Muhammad) of Time for Change: Four Essential Skills for Transformational School and District Leaders, published by Solution Tree Press, and a contributing author to Taking Action; Second Edition: A Handbook for RTI at Work™, alongside Mike Mattos, Austin Buffum, Janet Malone, Nicole Dimich, and Sarah Schuhl. His career spans more than three decades as a public-school teacher and administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, including service as principal of Baldwin Park High School in the Baldwin Park Unified School District in Southern California, where he helped implement the PLC process and worked with staff to significantly increase the school’s graduation rate.
Cruz has been recognized as a keynote speaker and educational consultant, presenting on transformational leadership, PLCs, and RTI to educators across the United States and Canada. He has worked with Dr. Anthony Muhammad’s leadership and consulting organization, New Frontier 21, and is frequently described as a passionate, motivating presenter focused on closing achievement gaps and ensuring that all students can be successful in school.
