Lyn Scott

Lyn Scott is a credentialed dual language teacher in Massachusetts and California with more than two decades of experience teaching in two-way immersion and transitional bilingual education classrooms. According to publisher material for Breaking Down the Monolingual Wall: Essential Shifts for Multilingual Learners’ Success, Scott has also worked with colleagues and parents to help restructure a neighborhood public school into a multiage, dual language immersion school, has served as a faculty member in the California State University system since 2012, and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Cal State East Bay.

Scott’s background also includes doctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, on language policy in Mexican American homes in Arizona and California, and the publisher notes that he is biliterate in Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, and English and conversational in Mandarin Chinese.
