Lynn Meltzer

Lynn Meltzer, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and leading expert on executive function and learning differences. She is President and Director of the Institutes for Learning and Development (ResearchILD and ILD) in Lexington, Massachusetts, and an Associate in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Meltzer is a Fellow and past president of the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities, and for 29 years served as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Child Development at Tufts University.

Meltzer has authored and edited several influential books on executive function in education, including Executive Function in Education: From Theory to Practice, Promoting Executive Function in the Classroom, and Executive Function and Emotional Regulation in the Classroom: Practical Strategies for Engaging Students and Promoting Independent Learning. Her research and publications focus on metacognition, strategy use, cognitive flexibility, self-concept, and resilience in students with learning and attention difficulties.
