M. T. Anderson

M. T. Anderson is the pen name of Matthew Tobin Anderson, an American writer of children’s and young adult books born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and raised in Stow, Massachusetts. He studied at Harvard University and the University of Cambridge and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University.

He is the author of numerous acclaimed works, including Feed, The Pox Party (the first volume of The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing), The Kingdom on the Waves, and Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad. The Collectors: Stories includes his story “Sweet Everlasting.” He has received the National Book Award, a Printz Honor, a Newbery Honor, and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
