Maggie Beattie Roberts

Maggie Beattie Roberts is a national literacy consultant, author, and professional learning facilitator who works with educators across the United States to strengthen reading and writing instruction. She began her teaching career in the heart of Chicago, later moving to New York City to complete graduate studies as a Literacy Specialist at Teachers College, Columbia University. Roberts spent nearly ten years as a staff developer with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, where she led research and development in digital and media literacy, differentiated instruction, and content-area literacy. She also holds post‑baccalaureate certification in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity with a specialization in Executive Function from Landmark College.

Roberts is the coauthor of DIY Literacy: Teaching Tools for Differentiation, Rigor, and Independence (with Kate Roberts) and Foundational Skills for Writing: A Brain-Based Guide to Strengthen Executive Functions, Language, and Other Cornerstones for Writers (with Melanie Meehan). In addition to her books, she has authored several Units of Study in writing for Heinemann and is a frequent speaker and guest teacher at schools and national conferences, supporting educators in creating inclusive, research‑aligned literacy classrooms.
