Malana Willis
Malana Willis, MEd, is an elementary educator and coauthor of Research-Based Strategies to Ignite Student Learning: Insights from Neuroscience and the Classroom (Revised and Expanded Edition). She has taught across the elementary grades in Oakland, Santa Barbara, and Goleta, California, and has also taught at the American School of Bilbao in Spain. In addition to her classroom work, she has worked at the Koegel Autism Center/UCSB Autism Clinic at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Willis holds a master’s degree in education and a multiple subject teaching credential from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in psychology from Williams College. Since 2010, she has been writing and presenting with her mother, neurologist and educator Dr. Judy Willis, on the neuroscience of learning, including regular presentations at the Learning and the Brain summer institute and other professional development programs.
