Marcus Conyers
Marcus Conyers, PhD, is an author and researcher in the fields of mind, brain, and education science and growth mindset. He coauthored Developing Growth Mindsets: Principles and Practices for Maximizing Students’ Potential with Donna Wilson, drawing on their BrainSMART® program to connect the science of learning with classroom practice. Conyers serves as a research supervisor for the PhD in Professional Practice: Psychological Perspectives at the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University and is the founder and CEO of BrainSMART as well as the nonprofit Center for Innovative Education and Prevention.
Conyers earned his doctorate from the University of Westminster with a focus on innovative applications of mind, brain, and education science. He is the lead developer of BrainSMART® and Innovating Minds® programs for improving cognitive performance and creative-thinking skills and helped create the world’s first doctoral minor in brain-based leadership and graduate degree programs in applied mind, brain, and education science. An author of around 20 books, including works on metacognition, leadership, and cognitive psychology coauthored with Donna Wilson, he has worked in approximately 30 countries and shared his frameworks with more than 100,000 educators, leaders, and professionals worldwide.
