Margaret Lane Dunne is a secondary English language arts teacher and education author based on Long Island, New York, with more than 18 years of classroom experience. She centers reflection, inquiry, and student choice in her teaching, with a focus on designing practices that motivate students to invest in their own learning and contribute to the learning of their peers.
Dunne is the coauthor of The Engaging ELA Classroom: Twenty-Five Essential Practices to Inspire Secondary Students (Vital Strategies for Student Engagement and Literacy), a research-based resource for grades 6–12 that offers classroom-ready, standards-aligned practices to foster student engagement, independence, and critical reading and literary analysis.
