Marie Hermansson
Marie Hermansson is a Swedish writer and journalist born in Gothenburg in 1956 and raised in Sävedalen, just outside the city. She studied journalism and literature at Gothenburg University, then worked as a journalist for daily newspapers before publishing her first book in 1986, a collection of short stories inspired by folktales and myths.
Her later work includes novels such as Värddjuret (1995), which was nominated for the August Prize, and Musselstranden (1998), which brought her wider critical and popular recognition. Her books have been published in multiple countries, and she still lives in Gothenburg.
