Marie Hubley Alcock
Marie Hubley Alcock, PhD, is an educator, futurist, and international education consultant specializing in curriculum, instruction, and assessment design. She is president of Learning Systems Associates, an education consulting company, and the founder of Tomorrow’s Education Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting student literacy and improving literacy development. Over more than two decades, she has worked in public and private education as a teacher, administrator, and public advocate, collaborating with schools nationally and internationally to design high-quality, contemporary learning environments and to enhance student motivation, including through digital tools and game design.
Alcock is the coauthor of Bold Moves for Schools: How We Create Remarkable Learning Environments (with Heidi Hayes Jacobs), as well as Quest for Learning: How to Maximize Student Engagement and The Power of the Social Brain: Teaching, Learning, and Using Interdependent Thinking. Her published work focuses on topics such as contemporary curriculum design, meaningful assessment practices, game-based and questing instructional approaches, and the future of education systems and policy.
