Marilyn C. Beckwith, Ed.D., is an educator and specialist in multisensory structured language instruction. According to publisher and library records for Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills, she earned a master’s degree in remedial reading and a doctorate in reading and language from Teachers College, Columbia University; she also trained with Aylett R. Cox in Dallas, Texas and became a Certified Academic Language Therapist and Qualified Instructor.
Beckwith helped found and direct the Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills courses at Teachers College in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching, Program in Learning Disabilities. She is credited as a coauthor of Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills and of the chapter “Alphabet Knowledge: Letter Recognition, Naming, and Sequencing” with Graham F. Neuhaus.
