Mario I. Acosta
Mario I. Acosta, EdD, is an award-winning educator, author, and education consultant who specializes in school culture, high reliability schools, and professional learning communities. Over a 20-year career in education, he has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, academic director, and principal, and he was recognized as a 2022 principal of the year in the state of Texas while leading Westwood High School.
Dr. Acosta is the author of The Schools Our Students Deserve: A Comprehensive Framework for Shaping Exceptional School Culture, published by Marzano Resources, and he is also a coauthor of several works including Five Big Ideas for Leading a High Reliability School, Culture Champions, Culture Keepers, and Professional Learning Communities at Work® and High-Reliability Schools. In his speaking and consulting work with Marzano Resources, he provides research-based guidance on aligning school culture with the High Reliability Schools framework and supports educators in building collaborative teams, improving instruction, and creating positive, inclusive school environments.
