Marisa Ramirez Stukey

Marisa Ramirez Stukey, Ph.D., is a recognized expert in literacy, professional learning, and systems change, and the co‑author of Professional Learning Redefined: An Evidence-Based Guide (Corwin Press, 2019). She serves as Chief Academic Officer at The Reading League, where she leads academic strategy and professional learning initiatives and helps design evidence‑aligned literacy content grounded in the science of reading.

Ramirez Stukey holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on teacher education and professional learning, and a master’s degree in reading education, both from the University of Florida. A National Board Certified Teacher, she has more than 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, higher‑education instructor, and national consultant, with research and consulting focused on reading comprehension instruction, literacy professional learning, and collaborative change models to shift literacy practices at scale.
