Mark Overmeyer
Mark Overmeyer is a Colorado-based literacy consultant and educator who has worked for more than two decades in Cherry Creek Schools near Denver as a classroom teacher in grades 2–6, a special education and Title I teacher, and a literacy coordinator. A native of Colorado, he completed his education at the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado College, and the University of Colorado at Denver.
He is the author of several professional books on literacy instruction, including Let’s Talk: One-on-One, Peer, and Small Group Writing Conferences, When Writing Workshop Isn’t Working, and What Student Writing Teaches Us, published by Stenhouse. Overmeyer now works full time as a literacy consultant, supporting schools and districts in the United States and internationally with reading and writing workshops and the development of teacher leaders.
