Martha Rush
Martha Sevetson Rush is a nationally recognized high school economics, entrepreneurship, psychology, journalism, and social studies teacher based at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills, Minnesota, where she has taught since 1997. She is the author of Beat Boredom: Engaging Tuned-Out Teenagers (Stenhouse, 2018), a book that promotes active-learning strategies to help secondary teachers engage disengaged students. Rush is also Founder and CEO of NeverBore LLC, an education consulting and content company that develops high-engagement, research-based curriculum and workshops for teachers and school systems.
Rush holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.A. from the University of Minnesota. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Council on Economic Education and is a member of the College Board’s AP Microeconomics Curriculum Development and Assessment Committee. Her classroom excellence has been recognized with the national John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Award (2013), and she frequently leads professional development workshops for economics and social studies teachers nationwide.
