Mary Cay Ricci
Mary Cay Ricci is a lifelong educator, consultant, and speaker known for her work on applying growth mindset research in K–12 schools. She has worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, instructional specialist, and central office administrator, including roles in gifted and talented and enriched instruction in Maryland districts. Ricci holds a Master of Education degree from Johns Hopkins University, where she has served as a faculty associate and adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education, and an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Mercyhurst University.
Ricci is the author of several influential books on growth mindset in education, including Mindsets in the Classroom: Building a Growth Mindset Learning Community, a New York Times bestselling education title; Ready-to-Use Resources for Mindsets in the Classroom: Everything Educators Need for Building Growth Mindset Learning Communities; Create a Growth Mindset School: An Administrator’s Guide to Leading a Growth Mindset Community; and Nothing You Can’t Do!: The Secret Power of Growth Mindsets. She also coauthored Mindsets for Parents with Meg Lee. Since 2009, Ricci has focused on helping schools, districts, and families implement growth mindset practices through keynotes, consulting, and interactive professional development.
