Mary Mitchell

Mary Mitchell is a mathematics educator and co-author of Eight Habits of Highly Effective Math Students (and the Teachers Who Teach Them): Grades K–5, part of the Corwin Mathematics Series. She works as a lead instructional designer at Math Solutions, where her role focuses on designing professional learning experiences that help teachers improve math instruction and build students’ mathematical understanding and agency.

In addition to Eight Habits of Highly Effective Math Students, Mitchell has contributed to other professional learning resources in mathematics education, including work highlighted by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where she has served as an instructional designer and math coach. Her published and collaborative work centers on supporting elementary teachers in cultivating students’ mathematical confidence, competence, and positive math identity.
