Matt Halpern

Matt Halpern is an early childhood educator and author with over 20 years of experience as a PreK–2 classroom teacher, literacy coach, and school-based professional development provider. He is a national presenter on interactive writing and on integrating social-emotional learning into literacy instruction, and has worked as a consultant supporting teachers in child-centered, early literacy classrooms.

He is the author of A Teacher’s Guide to Interactive Writing (Grades PreK–2), part of Heinemann’s Classroom Essentials series, which focuses on the principles, routines, and strategies of interactive writing and is accompanied by classroom video examples. He has also authored a digital professional development resource titled Social-Emotional Strategies to Increase the Success of Your Kindergartners.
