Matt Renwick

Matt Renwick is a career educator and instructional coach with more than 20 years in public education. He began his career teaching 5th and 6th grade in a country school outside Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and later served as a junior high dean of students, assistant principal, athletic director, and elementary principal in Wisconsin schools. Renwick now works as a systems coach for a regional education agency, supporting school and district leaders in pursuing more equitable outcomes for students. He holds a B.S. in Elementary/Middle-Level Education from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, an M.S. in PK–12 Principalship from the University of Wisconsin–Superior, and additional licensure as a Director of Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Superior.

Renwick is the author of Leading Like a C.O.A.C.H.: 5 Strategies for Supporting Teaching and Learning (Corwin, 2022), which outlines five core practices for school leaders: create confidence through trust, organize around a priority, affirm promising practices, communicate feedback, and help teachers become leaders and learners.
