Maureen Ucles
Maureen Uclés is an educator and curriculum author with more than three decades of experience working with bilingual and ESL students in elementary, middle, and high school settings. She began her education career as a teacher trainer in Honduras as a Peace Corps volunteer and later continued her work in U.S. schools, including serving as a multi-classroom teacher leader in Houston, Texas, where she mentors teachers, co-teaches, writes curriculum, and supports instructional improvement.
Uclés is the author of ¡Ándale Ya!: Conjunto de dos volúmenes, a year-long, dual-language grammar, spelling, and composition curriculum designed for fourth-grade bilingual or English learner classrooms, based on the work of Gretchen Bernabei and developed from her own classroom practice. She has also written Let’s Go Now!, a resource for English learners in grades 3–8, and maintains a YouTube channel and digital reading project site where she shares instructional videos and materials for teachers and students.
