Michael Murphy
Michael Murphy is a national education coach, facilitator, and consultant with more than 40 years of experience working in urban, suburban, and rural school district settings across North America. He has served in multiple K–12 and district leadership roles, including teacher, elementary specialist, assistant principal, principal, director of planning and evaluation, special assistant to the superintendent, assistant superintendent, acting superintendent, and adjunct professor/executive lecturer at the University of North Texas.
Murphy is coauthor, with Carol Ann Tomlinson, of Leading for Differentiation: Growing Teachers Who Grow Kids, a 2015 ASCD book on schoolwide differentiated instruction and leadership. In this work he is recognized as a change leadership authority, contributing practical tools, guiding principles, and real-world examples to help schools implement and sustain differentiated instruction.
