Michele Dufresne

Michèle Dufresne is a former literacy specialist and Reading Recovery teacher leader whose work focuses on helping children learn to read. She holds a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts and has taught as a classroom teacher, language arts specialist, Title I director, and consultant in school districts across the United States.

She is the coauthor, with Jan Richardson, of The Next Step Forward in Word Study and Phonics and has also written Word Solvers: Making Sense of Letters and Sounds. Dufresne is the author of the Bella and Rosie series and other children’s books and professional resources, and she founded Pioneer Valley Books with her husband, Robert Dufresne.
