Michelle Marrillia

Michelle Marrillia is an educator and instructional coach who has worked in K–12 education since 1996, serving as a classroom teacher, school administrator, instructional coach, and educational presenter. She has extensive experience supporting professional learning communities (PLC), developing teacher leaders, implementing response to intervention (RTI) systems, and designing practical coaching programs for schools. As an instructional coach, staff developer, and PLC coordinator at Fern Creek High School in Louisville, Kentucky, she played a key role in helping the school move from persistently low-achieving status in 2010 to proficient by 2015; the school later received Solution Tree’s DuFour Award in 2017.

Marrillia presents at state and national events to support instructional coaches, classroom teachers, administrators, and district leaders in improving teaching and learning through PLCs and effective coaching systems. She is a contributing author to Charting the Course for Leaders: Lessons From Priority Schools in a PLC at Work®, where she shares strategies drawn from her work in turning around priority schools.
