Mickey Huff
Mickey Huff is the director of Project Censored, a long-running media watchdog organization that promotes independent journalism, critical media literacy, and freedom of expression. He is also president of the nonprofit Media Freedom Foundation and serves as executive producer and host of The Project Censored Show, a weekly syndicated public affairs program he helped launch in 2010. Huff has held academic positions teaching history, social science, and journalism, including roles at Diablo Valley College and Ithaca College, where he is a Professor of Journalism and Distinguished Director of the Park Center for Independent Media.
Huff is a co-author and editor of multiple books on media and press freedom, notably co-editing the annual Censored/State of the Free Press yearbook series with Andy Lee Roth since 2009. His works include co-authorship of United States of Distraction: Media Manipulation in Post-Truth America (and What We Can Do About It) and Let’s Agree to Disagree: A Critical Thinking Guide to Communication, Conflict Management, and Critical Media Literacy. He is also one of the co-authors of The Media and Me: A Guide to Critical Media Literacy for Young People, published by Triangle Square, which introduces critical media literacy concepts to youth audiences.
