Mona Toncheff
Mona Toncheff is a mathematics educator, consultant, and author with over 30 years of experience in public education, including work as a mathematics teacher and mathematics content specialist in the Phoenix Union High School District in Arizona. She has served in multiple leadership roles with NCSM: Leadership in Mathematics Education, including President from 2019 to 2021, and has also been president of Arizona Mathematics Leaders; her contributions to mathematics leadership have been recognized with honors such as the 2009 Phoenix Union High School District Teacher of the Year, the 2014 Copper Apple Award from the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics, and the AML Leadership Award in 2022.
Toncheff is the coauthor of Activating the Vision: The Four Keys of Mathematics Leadership (from Team Leaders to Teachers) and a contributing author to Mathematics Unit Planning in a PLC at Work®, Grades 3–5, both published by Solution Tree Press. Her work focuses on building collaborative teacher teams, professional learning communities, and systems that align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure equitable, high-quality mathematics instruction for all students.
