Nancy L. Witherell

Nancy L. Witherell is an educator and literacy specialist who teaches graduate and undergraduate literacy courses at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where she has served as chair of the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education. A former elementary school teacher, she presents on language-arts instruction at the national, regional, and local levels.

Witherell is the coauthor of several practical resources for teachers, including Teaching Writing Through Differentiated Instruction with Leveled Graphic Organizers and Teaching Reading Through Differentiated Instruction with Leveled Graphic Organizers, both developed with Mary C. McMackin. She has also contributed to additional literacy-focused titles, such as Fluency in Focus, coauthored with Mary Lee Prescott Griffin.
