Nancy Steineke
Nancy Steineke is an educator and author known for her work on collaborative classroom environments, content-area literacy, and student engagement. Drawing on more than three decades of classroom experience, she writes and consults nationally as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter, webinar leader, and literacy coach for K–12 teachers, with particular focus on nonfiction writing, purposeful close reading, literature circles, and the social skills that support academic interaction.
Steineke is the author or coauthor of several professional books for teachers, including Classroom Management: Strategies for Achievement, Cooperation, and Engagement; Mini-Lessons for Literature Circles; Texts and Lessons for Content-Area Reading; Texts and Lessons for Teaching Literature; Texts and Lessons for Content-Area Writing; Teaching the Social Skills of Academic Interaction, Grades 4–12; and Assessment Live!.
