Nic Stone

Nic Stone (Andrea Nicole Livingstone) is an American author of young adult and middle grade fiction, best known for her debut novel Dear Martin, a #1 New York Times bestseller and William C. Morris Award finalist. Born and raised in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, she graduated from Spelman College, worked extensively in teen mentoring, and spent several years living in Israel before returning to the United States to write full-time. She currently lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and two sons.

Stone is the author of multiple acclaimed titles for young readers, including Dear Justyce and Dear Manny (companions to Dear Martin), Odd One Out, Jackpot, Clean Getaway, Fast Pitch, and Chaos Theory, among others. Her work frequently explores race, social justice, mental health, and the experiences of Black and LGBTQ+ youth, and several of her books have received honors such as NPR Best Book, ALA Rainbow Book Top Ten, YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults, and Southern Book Prize finalist recognition.
