Nigel Scozzi
Nigel Scozzi is an Australian educator who has served at Shore School in Sydney for more than three decades, including long tenure as Head of Geography and assistant head of teaching and learning. He is widely recognized within the school community as an inspirational teacher, mentor, sports coach, and long-time master in charge of Surf Life Saving, where he helped develop championship-winning teams and trained many students in lifesaving skills.
Scozzi is coauthor, with Rich Allen, of Sparking Student Synapses, Grades 9–12: Think Critically and Accelerate Learning, which describes how his classroom practice applies Allen’s “Green Light” teaching strategies to engage secondary students and promote critical thinking. In 2022 he experienced a serious surfing accident that resulted in significant spinal injuries, prompting extensive rehabilitation and community support highlighting his impact as a passionate educator.
