Norm Feuti is an American cartoonist, author, and illustrator best known for creating the nationally syndicated comic strips Retail and Gil. Born in 1970, he grew up in Pascoag, Rhode Island and later settled in Massachusetts. Feuti drew extensively on his fifteen years of experience in retail management to develop Retail, which ran in newspapers from 2006 to 2020 and led to his nonfiction book Pretending You Care: The Retail Employee Handbook.
After ending Retail in 2020 to focus on children’s books, Feuti has written and illustrated several series for young readers, including Beak & Ally, Hello, Hedgehog!, and the graphic novel The King of Kazoo. Beak & Ally #1: Unlikely Friends launched his early reader graphic novel series about an outgoing bird and a solitary alligator and received a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor in 2022.
