Pam Allyn
Pam Allyn is an American literacy expert, author, educator, and innovator known for her work advancing children’s reading and writing worldwide. She is the founder of LitWorld, a global literacy nonprofit, and LitLife, a consulting group focused on improving literacy teaching in schools, and serves as founder and CEO of Dewey, a learning platform for families and caregivers. Allyn is a graduate of Amherst College and holds a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.
She is the author or co-author of numerous books for educators and families, including Every Child a Super Reader (2nd edition, co-authored with Ernest Morrell), Tell Your Story: Teaching Students to Become World-Changing Thinkers and Writers, What to Read When, Your Child’s Writing Life, and Pam Allyn’s Best Books for Boys, as well as the Complete 4 for Literacy and The Complete Year in Reading and Writing series. Allyn has also created widely used literacy programs such as LitCamp, LitLeague, ReadyGen, and Mindscapes, and with LitWorld she originated World Read Aloud Day, celebrated in dozens of countries each year.
