Pamela Chanko
Pamela Chanko is a children’s author, editor, and educational writer based in New York City who has worked in educational publishing for more than two decades. A former early childhood teacher, she holds a master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Bank Street College of Education. She has written and edited numerous books for children and teachers, including resources such as Vocabulary Activities Just for Young Learners, Shoe Box Learning Centers: Word Families, and Leveled Poems for Small-Group Reading Lessons, as well as early literacy titles in series like Rookie Toddler and Rookie Amazing America.
Chanko has been an editor at Scholastic, including work on early childhood magazines such as Let’s Find Out, and is a regular contributor to educational magazines like Instructor, Clifford, and Let’s Find Out. Her body of work spans board books, emergent readers, phonics stories, and teacher guides, all focused on supporting young children’s language and literacy development.
