Pamela Duncan Edwards

Pamela Duncan Edwards is a British-born children’s author who has written over forty picture books published in both the United States and the United Kingdom. She grew up in northern England and later moved to the United States, where she has lived in Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area with her husband and two sons. Before becoming an author, she worked for eleven years as a preschool teacher in England and then as a children’s librarian after immigrating to the U.S.

Edwards is a New York Times–bestselling author whose picture books often incorporate early learning concepts and playful language. Her works include Some Smug Slug, Livingstone Mouse, Roar! A Noisy Counting Book, The Worrywarts, Clara Caterpillar, Wake-Up Kisses, Rosie’s Roses, The Leprechaun’s Gold, Gigi and Lulu’s Gigantic Fight, Dear Tooth Fairy, McGillycuddy Could!, and The Neat Line, many of them illustrated by Henry Cole. She has also written alphabet books such as B is for Big Ben: An England Alphabet and O is for Old Dominion: A Virginia Alphabet, and her work has received honors including the California Young Reader Medal and the Whitney and Scott Cardozo Award for Children’s Literature.
