Paul Gorski

Paul C. Gorski, Ph.D., is an activist, author, researcher, and leading scholar-practitioner in educational equity and social justice. He is the founder of the Equity Literacy Institute and EdChange, through which he has spent decades working with schools and other educational organizations around the world to build more equitable learning environments. Gorski earned his B.A., M.Ed., and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, completing his doctorate in education/educational evaluation there.

Gorski has written, co-written, or co-edited numerous books and more than 60–75 articles and chapters on educational equity, including Fix Injustice, Not Kids and Other Principles for Transformative Equity Leadership, co-authored with Katy Swalwell. His previous books include titles such as Reaching and Teaching Students in Poverty: Strategies for Erasing the Opportunity Gap and Case Studies on Diversity and Social Justice Education. He has taught at several universities, including George Mason University, where he developed undergraduate and graduate programs in Social Justice and Human Rights, as well as Hamline University, the University of Maryland–College Park, and the University of Virginia.
