    Paul Mielke

    Paul Mielke, Ph.D., is an education leader and author who serves as superintendent of the Hamilton School District in Sussex, Wisconsin. His career in education began in 1999 as an English teacher and football coach at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, followed by administrative roles including assistant principal and activities/athletic director at Waukesha South High School, principal of West Allis Central High School, and principal of Templeton Middle School before becoming superintendent in 2016. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University.

    Mielke is co-author, with Tony Frontier, of Making Teachers Better, Not Bitter: Balancing Evaluation, Supervision, and Reflection for Professional Growth, published by ASCD. His work and research focus on improving professional learning support systems and using comprehensive teaching frameworks to enhance teacher evaluation, supervision, and reflection so that educators can develop expertise in their practice. He also teaches leadership and teacher evaluation courses as an adjunct faculty member at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
