    Author

    Paul Peart-Smith

Paul Peart-Smith is a British comics artist, illustrator, and cartoonist with more than three decades of experience in comics and graphic art. He has worked in a wide range of roles including concept art, graphic design, and animation, and has contributed to comics such as 2000 AD (including work collected digitally under the title Slaughter Bowl), as well as projects for publishers and media clients including Marvel UK, Horrible Histories, Sony Games, Jim Henson’s Workshop, Channel 4, and Asylum Entertainment. He studied illustration in Cambridge, England, and later relocated to Tasmania, Australia.

Peart-Smith is the illustrator of Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz’s An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States: A Graphic Interpretation, working from an adaptation edited by Paul Buhle, and has also illustrated and adapted W. E. B. Du Bois’s The Souls of Black Folk: A Graphic Interpretation. His other comics work includes the series Romanis Magicae with writer Matthew Blair, variant cover art, and self-published mini-comics such as Graveyard Song. In addition to his print work, he writes the INKSKULL newsletter, where he reflects on comics, creativity, and mental health for fellow artists.
