Paulo Freire
Paulo Freire (1921–1997) was a Brazilian educator and philosopher best known for his influential work in critical pedagogy. Born in Recife, Brazil, he worked on literacy education and developed dialogical, emancipatory approaches to teaching that became central to his legacy.
Freire’s most famous book is "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" (1968/1970), which established him as one of the most important thinkers in modern education. Other widely cited works include "Education as the Practice of Freedom", "Education for Critical Consciousness", and "The Politics of Education".
