Rashad Doucet

Rashad Doucet is an Eisner Award–winning American cartoonist, illustrator, and professor of sequential art at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. A native of Ville Platte, Louisiana, he grew up in New Orleans and has been drawing comics since childhood, encouraged by his grandmother, who gave him paper to draw on during church and told him superhero stories at bedtime. After completing undergraduate studies with an emphasis on painting and graphic design at the University of New Orleans, he moved to Savannah following Hurricane Katrina to earn his M.F.A. in Sequential Art from SCAD.

Doucet is the creator and writer of the middle-grade graphic novel Art Club (A Graphic Novel), a semi-autobiographical story inspired by his own childhood as an aspiring young artist. He is also known for the all-ages fantasy series Pax Samson and the graphic novel Alabaster Shadows, as well as work on licensed comics such as Invader Zim and Rick and Morty for Oni Press.
