Raymond L. Smith
Raymond L. Smith is an educational leadership consultant and author who focuses on instructional leadership and leadership development in K–12 systems. He is coauthor of Impact Coaching: Scaling Instructional Leadership, published by Corwin in 2018, which provides frameworks and practices for coaching school leaders around high-impact instructional leadership behaviors. He also coauthored Evaluating Instructional Leadership: Recognized Practices for Success, further extending his work on effective leadership practices in schools.
Dr. Smith serves as an Author Consultant with Corwin Press and has worked in K–12 leadership, administrator preparation, and higher education. Prior to this role, he taught in a principal preparation program as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center and has worked with Florida Atlantic University’s aspiring leader program. After completing his doctorate in educational leadership and innovation in 2007, he authored several articles for the Ohio Department of Education and coauthored additional books on school improvement and leadership, including School Improvement for the Net Generation (2010) and The Reflective Leader: Implementing a Multidimensional Leadership Performance System (2012).
