Rebecca G. Harper
Rebecca G. Harper, Ph.D., is a Professor of Language and Literacy in the College of Education and Human Development at Augusta University, where she teaches courses in literacy, qualitative research, and curriculum and serves as the EdD program director. Her research focuses on writing and critical literacy, particularly how authentic literacy practices can foster student engagement, agency, and empathy, and she directs the Augusta University Writing Project.
Harper is the author of multiple professional texts for educators, including Write From the Beginning, Grades K–5: 43 Joyful Lessons to Foster Skilled Writers Every Day, Write Now & Write On, Grades 6–12: 37 Strategies for Authentic Daily Writing in Every Content Area, and Writing Workouts, Grades 6–12: Strategies to Build Students’ Writing Skills, Stamina, and Success. Her additional works include Content Area Writing That Rocks (and Works)! and Literacy Practices in Sports and Coaching: Developing Literacy Competencies in Interdisciplinary Environments, and she has delivered literacy-focused keynotes, conference presentations, and professional development sessions across the United States.
