Regie Routman
Regie Routman is an educator, literacy leader, mentor teacher, literacy coach, and classroom teacher with more than 45 years of experience working in diverse schools and classrooms across the United States and Canada. Her work has focused on helping teachers and school leaders create trusting, intellectually rich, and equitable learning environments for all students, including learners with diverse needs.
Her books include Literacy Essentials: Engagement, Excellence, and Equity for All Learners (2018) and The Heart-Centered Teacher: Restoring Hope, Joy, and Possibility in Uncertain Times (2024), along with earlier titles such as Transitions: From Literature to Literacy (1988), which her website identifies as her first book. Routman’s author materials also note that her books and resources have supported hundreds of thousands of educators and that her current work includes mentoring and coaching teachers and principals.
