Reshma Ramkellawan
Reshma Ramkellawan, Ed.D., is an educational consultant, author, and cofounder and chief operating officer of Equity Consulting Group. She is the coauthor of _Reclaiming Authenticity: Unearth Your True Self and Build an Equitable Classroom_ (Solution Tree Press, 2025), a guide for K–12 educators on identity, systemic inequities, and building equitable, culturally responsive classrooms. Her work centers on secondary literacy instruction, culturally responsive teaching, curriculum development, and staff and leadership coaching, and she has served as a senior educational consultant at Teaching Matters.
Ramkellawan has more than twenty years of experience in education as a middle school English teacher, grade-level leader, and assistant principal. She is a part-time lecturer at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and assistant adjunct faculty at The City College of New York. A first-generation Indo-Guyanese American and Queens native, she holds degrees in English education from the University of Central Florida and Teachers College, Columbia University, where she earned an Ed.D. in English Education and focused her research on identity, teacher education, and joy in learning while challenging white supremacist ideologies in schooling.
