Robert Trujillo

Robert Liu-Trujillo is an Oakland-born author and illustrator whose work focuses on children’s books, bilingual storytelling, and social justice themes. He is the author of Furqan’s First Flat Top and has illustrated and contributed to numerous other children’s books, including One of a Kind, Like Me, A Bean and Cheese Taco Bday/Un Cumpleanos Con Tacos de Frijoles Con Queso, and We Are Yoga/Somos Yoga.

He has described himself as a lifelong Bay Area resident and an artist, educator, and organizer; sources also note his involvement with the Trust Your Struggle Collective and the Social Justice Children’s Book Holiday Fair. A recent book listing identifies him as an illustrator for Libros solidarios: Teaching Language and Building Community With Latine Children’s Literature in Spanish, K–6.
