Rozlyn Linder

Rozlyn Linder (Dr. Rozlyn Linder) was an American literacy consultant, author, and educator known for her work on explicit instruction and standards-based literacy classrooms. She spent over a decade teaching in urban, high-poverty elementary, middle, and high schools before serving as an elementary school administrator and district school improvement specialist, and also taught composition, literature, and graduate education courses at the college level. Linder held a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and additional degrees including a BA in Early Childhood Education, MA in Professional Writing, and Ed.S. in Instructional Technology. She was certified in areas such as special education, K–12 reading, early childhood education, and middle grades language arts, and was active in professional communities including the National Council of Teachers of English and the National Writing Project.

As a literacy specialist and high-demand consultant, Linder worked with elementary and middle school teachers across the United States, focusing on explicit modeling, engaging reluctant writers, and literacy strategies for struggling readers. She authored several influential professional texts, including The Big Book of Details: 46 Moves for Teaching Writers to Elaborate, the Chart Sense series (including K–2 Chart Sense and Chart Sense for Writing), and titles in The Common Core Guidebook series.
