Russell J. Quaglia
Russell J. Quaglia is an educational researcher and author known internationally for his work on student and school voice and aspirations. He is the founder and executive director of the Quaglia Institute for School Voice and Aspirations (QISVA), and also founded and chairs the Aspirations Academies Trust in England, which sponsors primary and secondary academies based on his aspirations research. Quaglia earned a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College, a master’s degree in economics from Boston College, and master of education and doctorate degrees from Columbia University, specializing in organizational theory and behavior. His research on student aspirations and motivation has been published in multiple professional journals and he frequently works with schools around the world to provide voice and leadership training for students and staff.
Quaglia is the author or coauthor of several influential books on voice in education, including The Power of Voice in Schools: Listening, Learning, and Leading Together, Student Voice: The Instrument of Change, Student Voice: Turn Up the Volume K–8 Activity Book, Student Voice: Turn Up the Volume 6–12 Activity Book, Teacher Voice: Amplifying Success, Aspire High: Imagining Tomorrow’s School Today, and Principal Voice: Listen, Learn, Lead.[1
