Ryan Calejo

Ryan Calejo is an award-winning author born and raised in South Florida, known for his middle-grade fantasy and adventure novels that draw on Hispanic and Latinx folklore. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a BA and has been invited to join both the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Calejo is the creator of the critically acclaimed Charlie Hernández series, which has appeared on multiple U.S. state reading lists and has won honors including two gold medals from the Florida Book Awards, as well as recognition from organizations such as the Texas Bluebonnet Award and the Sunshine State Young Readers Award. He is also a co-author of the ChupaCarter middle-grade series with George Lopez, as well as the Rymworld Arcana books such as The Shape of Time and The Secret of Matter.
