Ryan Sheehy

Ryan Sheehy is an educator, author, and speaker best known for his book Be the One for Kids: You Have the Power to Change the Life of a Child, which draws on his personal experiences in education to offer practical strategies and inspiration for teachers and school leaders. He is also the co-author of Principals in Action: Redefining the Role, further reflecting his focus on educational leadership and student-centered school culture.

Sheehy has served in multiple roles across K–12 education, including physical education teacher, high school vice principal, and elementary principal, and has been principal of Highlands Elementary School in Concord, California. He later became Director of Human Resources for one of California’s largest school districts, working in the same community where he lives to strengthen relationships among staff, students, and families. In addition to his campus and district leadership, he works as an educator and leadership coach and regularly speaks to audiences about the power educators have to “be the one” for kids.
