Sally J. Zepeda

Sally J. Zepeda, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy at the University of Georgia, where her academic program area is Educational Administration and Policy. Her research and professional work focus on instructional supervision, teacher and leader evaluation, and professional development for preK–12 educators, and her scholarship has appeared in journals such as Review of Educational Research, Journal of School Leadership, Alberta Journal of Educational Research, and Educational Leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in language and literature (English) from the College of St. Scholastica and master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Loyola University Chicago.

Before entering higher education, Zepeda worked in K–12 schools as a high school English and speech teacher, director of special programs, assistant principal, and principal. She is the author of numerous works on instructional leadership and supervision, including C.R.A.F.T. Conversations for Teacher Growth: How to Build Bridges and Cultivate Expertise and Informal Classroom Observations On the Go, along with other titles on principals as instructional leaders and instructional leadership for school improvement. She has also collaborated with school systems in the United States and the Middle East to develop coaching and mentoring programs for teachers and school leaders.
