Sarah Schuhl

Sarah Schuhl is an educational coach and consultant specializing in mathematics, professional learning communities (PLCs), assessment, school improvement, and response to intervention (RTI). She has more than twenty years of experience in education and has worked as a secondary mathematics teacher, high school instructional coach, and K–12 mathematics specialist, including leading the development of a PLC in the Centennial School District in Oregon, where teachers achieved significant gains in student achievement. Schuhl holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Eastern Oregon University and a Master of Science in mathematics education from Portland State University, and she received the Centennial School District Triple C Award in 2012.

As an author and coauthor, Schuhl has contributed extensively to the Mathematics at Work™ and PLC at Work® series. Her works include Mathematics Unit Planning in a PLC at Work®, Grades 3–5 and Mathematics Unit Planning in a PLC at Work®, High School, which guide collaborative teacher teams in designing effective mathematics units and assessments. She is also a coauthor of Taking Action: A Handbook for RTI at Work™, Second Edition, a resource outlining essential practices for implementing RTI within a PLC framework.
